Jenny’s Camino Run

On February 27th, 2011, Jenny Biondi Anderson began her run of the Camino de Santiago. She started in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port and finished in Santiago de Compestela. Get this;

She ran 506.8 miles in 9 days, 5 hours, and 29 minutes.

Jenny was supported partially by her Mom, Step-Dad and daughter. Her husband back in Virginia watched their other two children and kept up her blog, Jenny’s Journey.

Her run may have set a best time in Ultra Running Speed Record for the Camino, but she admits there is little documentation. Jenny may just start a trend for the distance runners and their desire to turn in the best time. Go, Jenny go!

    Yes. I ran the Camino Frances but the very little docuementation on the trail leaves me guessing if I really have a world record. The 9 days, 5 hours, is very beatablle, and although The Camino should never be a race, I believe it is the fastest time on trail by foot from SJPP to Santiago. Please correct me if I am wrong. It was hugely spiritual and amazing. I’m so blessed!

    Congratulations Jenny on your run!!!
    Sounds like it was an amazing journey!
    I leave in 3 weeks and will start running on the 25th from SJdP and on to Fisterre. Not quite as ambitious as you….25-30 miles a day.
    Plan on finishing on the 14th.
    Did you stay in the albergues and get your pilgrims certificate at the end?
